I am teaching a course this fall called, “Mythology and the Movies.” The topic is The Living Dead which includes zombies, vampires, ghosts, ancestors, and other creatures that are not all there. Here is the syllabus for those interested in what we will read.
Here is the syllabus. I have not proofread it yet so if there are any major errors, let me know!:

What, no Terri Schiavo?
Actually, I will be addressing the topic of the Living Dead through cases like hers and others that have come up recently. When and why do we think someone is living or dead is a big question. Thanks for the reminder of this.
Fascinating! And good luck with the course. I think too that there is room to explore a figurative relationship between the undead and the unborn which could lead to interesting discussions about the nation, citizenship, and the cultural construction of the individual. Kudos!
